I am a graduate of Johns Hopkins University with a Master of Science in Clinical Counseling. I’m also a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor, National Certified Counselor, an Approved Supervisor in Clinical Professional Counseling, certified PREPARE/ENRICH facilitator, member of the International Association of Marriage and Family Counselors and member of the Licensed Clinical Professional Counselors of Maryland. My continuing education has included extensive training in couples therapy, trauma and distance counseling. I enjoy learning and am continually expanding my knowledge base to stay current on the latest developments in my field.
I enjoy working with adult individuals and couples of all ages, ethnic groups, nationalities, religions and socioeconomic groups. My previous experience includes working with clients struggling with severe drug & alcohol addiction at Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center.
My varied background also includes working with the homeless in Los Angeles, a previous career in the music recording & television production industries, touring the U.S. as a musician, and administrative positions in college & non-profit organizations. In addition, I have served in numerous leadership roles in church ministry. This diverse life experience has enabled me to empathize with a wide variety of client issues.
On a personal note, I moved to Maryland in 2004. I’ve lived in 9 states but consider Portland, Oregon my hometown. I enjoy spending time with family, traveling as much as possible, reading to learn and just for fun, music and films from around the world, gardening and bird-watching in my backyard, working with my husband on our fixer-upper, walking, biking the NCR trail and the peaceful solitude of prayer and meditation.
