about Contemplative Counseling
Offering an expert, caring, personalized and nonjudgmental approach.
Welcome! I’m Dawn Lewis, MS LCPC NCC and I meet with my wonderful clients online in MD & PA. I’ve been a professional counselor since 2008 and started Contemplative Counseling LLC in 2010. Having worked with both couples and individuals for 16 years, I’m now focused solely on individual therapy.
I enjoy working with adults of all ages, racial/ethnic groups, nationalities, religions and socioeconomic groups. My previous experience includes working with people struggling with severe alcohol and drug addiction at Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center.
I am a lifelong learner. I highly value travel, reading and research to constantly widen my knowledge base, stay current on world issues and the latest developments in the psychotherapy field to expand resources for my clients.
My varied background also includes working with the unhoused population in Los Angeles, working in the music recording and television production industries, touring the U.S. as a musician and administrative positions in college & non-profit organizations. In addition, I have served in numerous leadership roles in church ministry. This diverse life experience has enabled me to empathize with and have insight into a wide variety of client issues.
